Introduction
Pashmina, the rarest and finest of wool is extracted from the underbelly of Capra hircus mountain goat and ishand spun to produce the Cashmere yarn.

For over a thousand years cashmere has been woven into shawls and blankets prized for its luxurious rarity, its incomparable softness, warmth and durability.


Nepal has developed its own brand of textile handspun and hand-woven from Cashmere brought from northern Tibet and this ethereally soft luxuriously warm textile is known in Nepal as pashmina. This highly prized hand-woven shawls are handed down from generations to generation. Therefore today most of the Pashmina shawls that have been darling to European and American fashion lovers are woven on handlooms in Kathmandu, Nepal.
